10Homes Legal

Anti-Money Laundering

10Homes is required by law to verify the identity of our clients and the source of funds in every property transaction.

Why we check identity

Under the Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds Regulations 2017, 10Homes is legally required to verify the identity of every client and, where relevant, the source of funds in a property transaction.

What we need from you

Before we can market your property, we will ask for photographic identification (such as a passport or driving licence) and proof of address (such as a utility bill or bank statement). In some cases we may ask for additional information about the source of funds.

Electronic verification

We use an electronic identity-verification service. In most cases this means you will not need to provide original documents in person, but we may ask for them where electronic checks are inconclusive.

Reporting obligations

Where we suspect money laundering or terrorist financing we are required by law to report it to the relevant authority. We are generally prohibited from telling you if a report has been made.
